Downton Abbey via Van Dusen Gardens June 1st 2025

Just four of us gathered on Sunday morning for a leisurely ride 'the long way round' to Van Dusen Gardens.  After Saturday's rain, Sunday was luckily sunny and bright although a little cooler than we expected, but we soon warmed up as we cycled round Spanish Banks and up the hill to UBC.  Through the university grounds, a bit of trail through Pacific Spirit Park and the roller coaster of 37th Ave, we arrived at Van Dusen in time for a well-deserved lunch.  Suitably replete, we then had a most enjoyable wander around the Van Dusen's Fleurs de Ville - Downton Abbey displays.  Perry & I were definitely the series fans in the group but our lively discussions on the characters, perhaps along with the stunning flower displays, may have convinced Iain & Louise to watch the show! There was quite a bit of the garden we didn't get to explore - I had no idea Van Dusen was so extensive - a future visit may be required (watch this space).
