Buntzen Lake, Diez Vistas, 13th September 2025
Harry, Maureen, Ramona, Paula and Carl, not so far from Vancouver but a long way from the city
Paula waxes lyrical:-
The Cat Who Walked Around the Lake
was called Max.
Max, the cat, was with his owner and with the family dog.
He was on his weekly walk
Around Buntzen Lake
I kid you not!
Max appeared to be enjoying his walk
And appeared to be doing this of his own volition!
But I digress.
Carl, Maureen, Harry and I were with Ramona, our friendly and fearless leader
And were finishing our hike along the Diez Vistas Trail
When we met Max, the cat,
Who, as I mentioned, was walking around Buntzen Lake
Of his own free will, and quite happily.
We humans were also quite happy. The views (those not obscured by trees)
were lovely.
The forest was beautiful, if somewhat noisy at times.
There were thirty odd members of the Pacific Northwest Hiking Club (complete with banner proclaiming same).
Coquitlam SARS was there on an orientation hike with prospective new recruits. They were numerous as well, but much quieter.
All in all an enjoyable hike. Thank you, Ramona, and you too, Max.
