A Rather Fine Summit Lunch Shot from Maya
Afsana writes:-
Seven members had the good fortune of climbing up Mt. Strachan via the Christmas Gully on a dry yet windy day. We were surprised to find that we weren’t the only ones on this normally quieter trail.
We made it to the top of the North peak in 2 hours. After a short break, we decided to head over to the south peak.
We came down the Mt. Strachan trail before hitting Collins ski run trail down. Approximately 9 km, 600 m gain in just over 4 hours, including breaks.
Following up on our discussion re the name:
“ Origin of the name
Geographic Feature:
"Christmas Gully" is a well-known black diamond trail on Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver, BC.
Christmas Ridge:
The gully is located near the "Christmas Ridge," a feature that is likely named for some reason related to the Christmas holiday, according to the information available.”
Thanks everyone for great company, laughs & conversations.
