Mount Thurston, June 7th 2025

Ramona writes:-

Five members came out on a beautiful sunny day early in the am (but hey, we avoided the crowds!) to make the trip to Mount Thurston, near Chilliwack.

The day was fabulous, with clear vistas from the ridges (minimal smog and no wildfire smoke), pleasant sunshine and only a few patches of snow to traverse at the top (easily covered with regular hiking boots). Thurston itself offers no views and the trail from there had lots of snow, so we stopped to have our lunch.

The highlight? Fields of purple and red wildflowers in full bloom.

Up and back, with a break for lunch, was about six hours

A fun group on a wonderful hike. Thanks all!
