Cambodia Trail and Beyond Saturday April 25, 2026

Cambodia trail is not on many maps and is signed as triple black diamond mountain bike primary. It has been upgraded by the mountain biking community but isn’t heavily used since not a lot of riders have the skills required. 15 of us set out from Glen and Dolores’ house, down Fisherman’s trail and up Ridgerunner to the beginning of Cambodia. As soon as the going got steep, we could see where the trail got its name. The large rocky outcroppings and roots look sort of like Angkor Wat, or something out of the Tomb Raider movie. We could see evidence of where the bikers ride down impossible looking sections and were hoping to watch some, but there were very few on that trail. We continued, crossing Mystery Creek at a small waterfall and after lunch, descended to the Powerline and down Old Buck. We had a pleasant break at Bean Around the World at Parkgate before returning to our start via the old Blair Rifle Range. We could see where Canadian armed forces have been digging up old ordnance, but we all made it through safely. It was an interesting hike at a relaxed pace on a beautiful sunny day.
