Empanada Bike Report

After the torrential rain overnight and during the morning of Saturday the original Bjorn Bar ride was curtailed, however 5 of us did brave the remaining drizzle to meet at 12pm (instead of 9am) and ventured out to Panaderia Latina - a hidden gem of a bakery near Joyce Collingwood SkyTrain station. We all sampled their homemade speciality empanadas, which we ate in a nearby park, and agreed it was worth the chilly windy ride to get there. Amazingly the rain had completely cleared, the sky was blue and the autumn sunshine bright as we meandered our way back towards downtown along 45th, 38th, Prince Edward and 14th Ave bike routes, dropping off 2 of the riders along the way. Although shorter than originally planned and with a smaller group this still turned into a lovely 30km ride with beautiful Fall colours and a tasty snack thrown in!
