Group Shot by Random Helpful Passer By

The morning dawned with distinctly better weather than anticipated when 14 of us gathered for the now-annual Noel Fleurs de Villes downtown amble.  This year's theme was the Twelve days of Christmas and the displays were as innovative and eye-catching as always.  Our group included some new members, nearly members and returning members so it was lovely to wander and chat, catch up and get to know each other better.  Our route meandered round the northern end of the Fleurs de Ville displays, along the Canada Place promenade (in a failed attempt to view the Woodward window which were absent this year due to construction) to see the Chris-moose... which turned out to be a Christmas whale. Note to self - maybe a bit more pre-planning required next year!

After an early nourishing lunch at Tractor Foods on Robson, re-arranging the furniture to seat us all in a row a few people headed off to appointments and other commitments, leaving 10 of to visit the Gingerbread Lane display at the Hyatt, then wander round the Alberni and Robson Street Fleurs in a light rain, losing a few more people along the way (not literally - they voluntarily headed off home!) Five of us finished the full Fleurs tour at Fairmont's Partridge in a Pear Tree mannequin (IMG_6840), appropriately ending our walk at the trail's start point.

This was the largest group for a Fleurs walk so far and I think we all enjoyed the beautiful displays, the unexpectedly reasonable weather and the social company.  Looking forward to the next time.
